Cimexa Carpet Beetle

I read everywhere and was told to try cimexa on these little buggers.

The dust will have to be continuously applied to carpet due to foot traffic and vacuuming. I would like to add that waiting it out before you try any of the steps that the uplist reccomended might not hurt. I am sad to report that cimexa does not work on carpet beetles more specifically their larvae. They are shiny black and dark brown with brownish legs.

Food and sweat stains on fabrics can attract carpet beetles. Like any other insects cimexa will generally kill carpet beetles within 24 hours of contact. Transport mikron temprid or phantom are great alternative insecticides for carpet beetles i wouldnt recomend one over the other. Because insecticide dust is a slow kill we recommend using it in addition to the products in step 2.

Usually they are brown or black in color with specks of white on their backs. Since carpet beetles generally like to inhabit carpet and other cloth based materials it may become counter effective to treat carpet beetles with this dust. Full sized larvae can be as long as 5 16 inch and range from light brown to almost black. Nyguard plus contains both an igr and an insecticide and it is safe to use as a crack and crevice spray and as a broadcast for listed pests.

Spring is the time of year carpet beetles beeline for your home. Insecticide dust like cimexa insecticide dust is a great way to kill carpet beetles in hard to treat areas or in areas where sprays cannot be applied. I also have a cat so i cannot go the normal route of having a bug guy come in and spray. Clean carpet beetle prone areas frequently.

Adult black carpet beetles range from 1 8 to 3 16 inch long. They like to devour natural fibers such as cotton wool fur and leather. Varied carpet beetles are the smallest type of carpet beetle and have a slightly rounded shell. Treat spills and stains immediately as well.

Cimexa is extremely effective when applied properly which you seem to have done so. Since dust bunnies cobwebs dead insects and tufts of shed pet fur are an open invitation to larvae get busy with the duster. Adults and larvae of the black carpet beetle attagenus unicolor are distinctly different from the carpet beetles described above. I live in an apartment that has a carpet beetle problem.

It may also be used for the prevention treatment of dry wood termites. Cimexa insecticide dust is labeled for control of bedbugs fleas ticks lice roaches ants firebrats silverfish spiders mites.
